FRIDAY, MARCH 23: LOOSE JOINTS @ LE SOCIAL, 1445 BISHOP – SECOND FLOOR RE-OPENS! STILL NO COVER!

LooseJoints March23

The words “raging disco bender” are thrown around a lot these days, but here at LOOSE JOINTS we take them very seriously – especially after last week, when a bus-load of paralegal secretaries showed up at our door and forced us to aurally pleasure them until five in the morning. Talk about taking one for the team…

The shenanigans continue this Friday as LOOSE JOINTS moves back upstairs to the newly renovated second floor of LE SOCIAL (1445 Bishop, MTL) where there’s ample room to get your freak on. Oh, and the sound has been recalibrated to PERFECTION. Pair that with all the new records we’ve been buying lately, and you have the best night out since Prohibition-era Chicago.

Things get underway this week at 9pm – the first ten people through the door get a free mix CD, and possibly some tongue action!

FRIDAY, MARCH 30: Stay tuned for a suprise guest DJ next week! Hint: he’s played Stereo, toured Canada, and hails from Sudbury, Ontario. Is it Robert Goulet? Keep guessing!

Safety Scissors + Attitude City

We’re happy to announce that we’re opening for the ever-kick-ass Safety Scissors at a late-nite danse party this Saturday. We play “early” from 11-12:45 so plan accordingly. This is a warehouse style show and attendence is extremely limited meaning this will sell out.

See your thug-asses there.

And stay tuned to attitudecity.com for some killer announcements on the MPLS front…

Birthday JAM!

Did someone say “double birthday party”??? No? Well then we’re saying it: DOUBLE BIRTHDAY PARTY! Join Thunder Bay ’s LISA NORDIN (Ministry of Sound, Sisters of the Eastern Star) and DAVID SHAW (Underground Resistance, United Steel Workers of America) for an extra-special celebration at an extra-special venue. Soundtrack provided by none other than Minneapolis maverick and 1970’s italian crime drama loose cannon JEFF DUBOIS! Montreal welcomes its AC brethren with open arms for an international exchange of beats, booty and body fluids this FRIDAY, MARCH 9 @ CAFÉ DE LIMA (6409 St-Hubert, corner Beaubien) (MTL). Backing Jeff up will be the royally anointed trio from Trois Rivieres: messieurs Davey Lahteenmaa, Chris Pare and birthday bastard David Shaw. Be there, or be terminally ill of syphilis.

AC Montreal_LOOSE JOINTS: CHILDREN OF THE DISCO!

Loose Joints March 8th!

Prepare to be shocked and debased, as LOOSE JOINTS presents its latest installment of alarmist dance music exposés! Tonight, we venture into the heart of darkness with CHILDREN OF THE DISCO, where DJs Cyan, Dave O’Brien and Deliz will present their startling interpretations of what disco might sound like in the year 2032. Some background on our intrepid guests:

CYAN, aka Corina McDonald, is host of Modular Systems on CKUT 90.3FM (www.ckut.ca ) and the brains behind the femme-fantastic Women on Wax night. A dynamic DJ and burgeoning producer, Cyan has held court across town and around the world, destroying dance floors with her demented blend of techno, electro and house. ( www.traktion.com)

DAVE O’BRIEN
and DELIZ represent nocommercialvalue.ca, and are easily two of the best club DJs in the city. They call their style “atypical dance music,” which roughly translates as: “the funkiest house and techno this side of Poughkeepsie, Iowa.” Dave is a regular at the über-swank Billy Kun, while Deliz has notched up some impressive gigs at Parking and Aria (to name just a couple). Together they’re an unstoppable and irrepressible force behind the decks, and a guaranteed good time. (www.nocommericalvalue.ca)

FRIDAY, MARCH 2: LOOSE JOINTS PRESENTS COLBOURNE (Boston) and DJ SLYDE (Montreal)

Thursday, March 1st, 2007

LooseJointsMarch2nd

IMPORTANT: the venue-formerly-known-as-the-Mansion is currently undergoing a much-needed face-lift, so for THIS FRIDAY ONLY we’re going to be doing it up house-party styles at 409 St. Francois Xavier (corner St. Paul), Apartment 300, Old Montreal. Cover is only $5, and it’s cool to bring your own hooch should you feel like it.***

HOLD ON to your sock garters, ’cause daddy done good on this one. After taking last Friday off to recharge our proverbial batteries, the LOOSE JOINTS crew is back with a special event at a very special venue.

Joining us from Boston for a night of disco dipped in Crisco is none other than the incredible COLBOURNE. This guy isn’t just a part of the dance music scene in Massachusetts – he IS the dance music scene. His fabled record collection spans the very best in boogie, italo disco, jacking proto house and beyond; he is a soothsayer and a self-professed student of the greats, so pack an extra diaper for this one.

Batting clean-up for the night is DJ SLYDE, one of Montreal’s foremost vinyl archaeologists and knower of all things disco. Brad’s most recent accomplishment was the seemingly impossible feat of bringing DAVID MANCUSO and his mythical sound system to Montreal for a special one-night-only event that will forever be enshrined in the annals of disco history. At least in our books.

See you there!
