Hear yea, hear yea! Heed this royal decree:
You are hereby summoned by the Superior Council of Attitude City to attend tomorrow’s gala of italo, high energy disco and new wave/post-punk (and we’re not just tossing stylish genre names around willy nilly here – there should seriously be a law on that shit). Make the short trek to Zoobizarre, 6388 St-Hubert (right near Beaubien metro) for a cozy autumn evening with Dan Selzer (NYC), local heavy hitter Jordan Dare and our own dapper devil Chris Pare. Dan runs the fantastic Acute Records label in New York, which reissues rare new wave and 80’s synth acts, is a fundamental figure in the city’s disco scene, and has played with, well, everyone. In addition, Jordan Dare will be mining his deep collection of new wave and vintage electro, which promises to be sweeter than a pillowcase full of witch toffees. Filling out an already substantial night is our own Chris Pare (whom you know is no slouch behind the decks), focusing his sonic attention solely at the hairs on the back of your neck. It all goes down at 10pm-3am, it’s 5 bucks, and, if you haven’t been to Zoobizarre, I’ll spoil the surprise: it’s perfect.
